Why I wrote it

Reverse engineering is full of repeated work: renaming functions, adding comments, finding the same patterns across hundreds of functions. Binary Ninja's Python API turns that work into scripts you can rerun on any binary, share, or grow into a plugin. The guide walks through that path.

What it covers

  1. Getting started with scripting. The Python console and its built-in variables, imports for standalone scripts, Binary Ninja's object model, intermediate languages, iterating MLIL calls, batch renaming, and a first plugin.
  2. Practical reverse-engineering workflows. Analysing malware C2 communication, identifying encryption routines, and tracing data flow.
  3. AI integration. Binary Ninja Sidekick, setting up AI-assisted workflows, analysing a keygen with AI, explaining complex algorithms, and automated pattern recognition.
  4. Advanced techniques. Headless automation for batch processing, and debugging scripts.
